Every £ helps

How even the smallest donation can help

£1 will buy a safe birth calendar.  For women without access to antenatal classes or the internet,  this provides information about how to prepare for birth, how to avoid risks and when to get help.

£2 will buy clean birth supplies: latex gloves, needle and thread for stitches, sterile cotton wool, that kind of thing.  Women are often turned away from health centre’s to go and buy these items - and so they stay at home, risking death from obstructed labour, bleeding, infection and eclampsia.

£5 will buy a malaria bed net; Malaria kills a child in Africa every 30 seconds.

£10 will buy a caesarean section.

£20 can pay for a village meeting where women can share experiences of pregnancy.

£300 could pay the salary of an ambulance driver for a whole year.  Hundreds of women die unnecessarily in childbirth every week.
