Fundraising Ideas
There are so many ways to raise money for Pen Sulo Spirit, and remember sometimes the simplest ideas can make the biggest impact!
Get sponsored
Can you face 24 hours of not swearing, smoking or speaking? If you can, get sponsored for it! Or why not try sporting ventures such as swimming, cycling or running, and get fit at the same time. There are plenty of things you can get sponsored for - from giving up chocolate to having your beard/hair shaved off.
Organise a party
Hold a party, a ball, a coffee morning or even a murder mystery evening. Charge people to attend and organise raffles and competitions.
Hold a quiz night
Organise just one night or a series of quizzes. You can charge entry for each team and get prizes donated. Many pubs or social clubs will be happy to support you as the event will bring them extra customers.
Hold a charity auction
Ask friends, colleagues and local businesses to donate auction lots to sell for charity. Lots could range from two hours of dog walking to theatre tickets, meals in local restaurants or mowing your neighbour's lawn. You could even auction someone's skills, such as painting and decorating or building a website.
Get competitive
If you are part of a sports club, golf club or fitness centre, you could organise a charity football match, golf day or fancy dress sports challenge.
Look silly
Organise a dress down or fancy dress day in the office and charge people to get involved
Find hidden talents
Organise a talent contest or a karaoke night and charge for admission. Why not hold a raffle or tombola at the same time?
Get collecting
Get permission to collect from your local supermarket, pub, football club, train station, theatre, cinema or shopping centre.
Challenge yourself
Feeling adventurous? You could take on the challenge of a lifetime - from abseiling down a building to running a marathon - and you can ask people to sponsor you for your efforts.
Ask your employer
Lots of companies offer schemes to staff who are raising money for charity, some may give you a lump sum donation, others might double, or even treble whatever finds you raise. If your company hasn’t done something like this before, why not encourage them to start now, it’s a great PR exercise and after all, if you don’t ask, you don’t get.
